About Us
For the curious and the cautious
Hi, I’m Stacey!
I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Before becoming a CCC, I stayed home with and eventually homeschooled my two neurodivergent sons, who are now both attending high-school. Being a mom has been the most rewarding and challenging job I’ve ever had. My Filipino-Canadian husband and I are intentional about our parenting and our partnership.
Before staying home with my boys, I held a variety of positions within the IT industry, including project manager and software developer. I miss the terrific people, but I don’t miss the stress and pressure that I put on myself and others during those years. Thankfully, several painful and humbling experiences changed my focus from results to responsible caring.
I have completed a masters in counselling from City University of Seattle, a bachelor of science in computer science from the University of Saskatchewan, and a bachelor of arts in honours English Literature from the University of Saskatchewan. I’m seven classes away from finishing my bachelor of arts in psychology from Athabasca University. I also have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and individuals, the Gottman Method for couples, and several parenting programs.
Over my fifty+ years on this earth, I’ve faced many mental, physical, spiritual, and relational hardships, but I believe that every trial is a growth-opportunity. I’m grateful that God has used these experiences to teach me compassion, wisdom, faith, and acceptance.
Hi, I’m Cocoa!
I’m a non-shedding Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle).
I love meeting new people! I’ve passed the temperament testing and will be a fully certified therapy dog by December! For now, I like to hang out with Stacey and give her clients a warm, tail-wagging welcome.
I’m still a puppy so I’m working on my manners. I might greet you with a growl or a whine because I really want to bark my welcome. I might also jump up on your legs to get closer to your hands for a pet. If you’ll wait a minute when we meet, Stacey will remind me to sit first and then I might remember to say “hi” with all four paws on the ground.
